First time - cable car ride

26 july. This is the first cable car ride for joshua. He was not scared at all but rather excited. On the way to the cable car tower, joshua was fascinated by those cable cars cruising 'in the air'. He would 'ah ah ah...' & more 'ah ah ah...' whenever one cable car passed by...

Our Sunday afternoon

Pappy brought us to National Museum on sunday, 20 july. However, we did not go into any of the exhibition gallery. The admission is $10 per adult which i find it expensive though joshua is free. We wandered about the interior and really impressed with the renovation & restoration. Besides new attraction, there is new extension as well which well linked to the car park at the fort canning park, near the ROM. Parking is free on sunday at this public car park.

After that, we had lunch at the compound of SMU. Pappy tak pau chicken chop rice (specially for joshua boy) & beef stew rice from the nearby kopitiam. We also had nice teh tarik bought from a stall at the SMU compound.

lunch for today

Just now was trying out a pasta recipe from this book "Feed Your Child Right". I did not have all the ingredients as listed in the book, so modified a bit. Taste not too bad. I would say better than those ready made sauce sold at supermarkets. (joshua boy ate quite a lot..hehehe...)
So happy with myself so quickly called pappy to tell him that i cooked my own pasta sauce. Too bad he could not join us for lunch.

16th july. I cooked only fried rice for dinner that day. Pappy knew that I had had not enough, thus he suggested to go mc cafe for some sandwiches & kopi. joshua boy enjoyed himself (as usual)... I have taken a video clip showing how joshua boy behaved at mc cafe. Will learn to put up in my blog.

hooray!!!.....it's pai fu again..vu...vu...vu...

Pappy is taking us out for afternon tea. Go where? i think it's the sandwich place at Paragon, which is pappy's favourite cafe for sumptuous & expensive sandwiches. I like the kopi there also. Well-brewed & smooth...yummy... most importantly joshua boy can eat the food there.

Nowadays wherever we go for makan, we will always think of joshua first, whether the food is suitable for him, whether the place is too warm for him... My 'one ball' is really ho mia.

Our Sunday

13th July. A proud moment for pappy & all of us ... pappy's graduation ceremony at NUS University Cultural Centre.

Pappy has graduated with a Bachelor of Technology after 4 years of part-time studies. With such hectic work schedule, pappy has indeed put in his best effort to complete the course. It's a challenge to him to be able to accomodate work (frequent flying schedule), family & studies. He had to sacrifice his weekends to catch up some readings, complete his assignments, revise for tests & prepare for exams. I'm proud of pappy!

Our Saturday

have not visited my blog over the weekend. Why har?

Saturday went to Jusco, Tebrau City (JB) with ah gek & family. We were very glad that the immigration custom at JB side was very smooth when we came back. But over at s'pore side, not so good. It was very bad in fact. We reached the woodlands checkpoint before 11 pm. We arrived home at midnight. There were indeed many cars. Thus the traffic was slow. Nevertheless, joshua boy & pappy enjoyed themselves. It was pappy's first trip there. He likes that place.

We were rushing for time & excited to be able to join ah gek & leonard to JB, we had forgotten to bring joshua boy's shoes. We discovered that only when we reached jusco's car park (blur...) Pappy had joshua's sandals washed. I thought that the sandals were in the car. So 'one ball' had only his socks on. hahaha... we bought a new pair of shoes for him at Bata.

YES!!! it's friday. it's pai fu...vu...vu...vu... (hahaha.....that's private code between pappy & mahmmy)

Pappy is coming back from taiwan tonight. If joshua boy is still awake, we will fetch pappy from the airport.

How do we spend our friday evening? Usually pappy will try to finish his work early & join us for dinner. If pappy has to work late, he will bring us out for supper. Our favourite hangout is mac_cafe at amk park. So on friday night, joshua boy will sleep late. I guess he is already used to such lifestyle. He enjoys the car ride and enjoys listening to pappy-mahmmy conversation. Sometimes he also wants to chip in.

Joshua boy has not talked yet. He will either point to us or make ah ah ah sound to tell us what he wants. Joshua boy understands all my instructions & expressions. I should say he has not verbalised yet. i have taught him alphabets & he recognises 'A' & 'O'. i have taught him numbers & he recognises '1' (he has shown that with his finger) i have taught him to call 'mummy' ' papa' & he said 'muak'. He has called me 'mama' only once after awakened from his nap one afternoon. i wonder if he was dreaming that day! Am i worry? Dr Chua told me to give joshua boy more time and not to make comparison with other kids. Dr Chua is right. Every child is unique in his own way.

my growing up son (II)

My joshua boy is sleeping now. He usually sleeps at around 10. Tonight is considered exceptionally early. He already 'mi' at 945p.m. Whenever pappy is not at home, he will somehow go to bed early. (Pappy, you at taiwan can view my blog n see 'one ball')

Joshua boy will be 2 yrs old in 2 months time. Time really flies... as a mother, I want my 'one ball' to grow up to be a happy n healthy child. Pappy's friend, Joe, ever mentioned that joshua looks so positive all the time & he is always smiling. Joe asked mahmmy what i have done?!?! Mahmmy's best friend, Kat, got an answer for me. I was happy n healthy when I was pregnant.

It's Tuesday again

it's Tuesday again......

joshua boy will keep my mum company on every tuesday afternoon. Why is there such an arrangement? Bcos mahmmy boy is working on tuesday. Every tuesday, joshua n I will have lunch at my mum's place before i leave for work. Mummy's cooking is the best in the world! My mum is a great cook. She can easily whip up delicious hokkien mee soup in 5 minutes (as observe by pappy). I can request for my favourite mee hoon kuay and she will prepare that. Thanks mum!

My joshua boy is growing up..thanks be to God! He is learning to walk up the stairs himself, refusing any assistance. I just hold his arm to give him a little support for every step he takes. Whenever he accomplishes the whole flight of stairs, he will show me a wide grin. Love to see my joshua boy's dimple when he smiles...

Pappy is flying again tomorrow. He is going to taiwan and will be back on friday evening. joshua boy is going to miss his smell...

stitch n itch

That was 29 june, at around 5.10pm. My 'one ball' fell n hit his forehead. Unfortunately, kana a cut and had 6 stitches ( 9 to be exact,3 inner, 6 external according to the doctor). Pappy was at Munich at the time. When he came back on 4 july n saw 'one ball' at the airport, he felt very 'sim tia' (heart ache). My handsome 'ball' has a stitch right in the middle of his forehead.
